Behind the scenes - how we are shaping the discussions for orthodontists to go back to work with a realistic way to protect practices as well as patients

Join us on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020 for a special OAO Virtual Event!

OAO Spring Business Meeting and Special Presentation - Behind the scenes- how we are shaping the discussions for orthodontists to go back to work with a realistic way to protect practices as well as patients

While we are disappointed that we cannot be together later this month in Niagara on the Lake, we still want to provide an update to our members on what your OAO executive has been up to, along with an educational session.

Our session will begin with our Spring Business Meeting, hosted by OAO President, Dr. Pourang Rahimi.

Following our Business Meeting, join OAO Treasurer and session Moderator Dr. Kent Floreani and his panel of Back-To-Work Task Force members from various associations. They will discuss and take questions on the Behind The Scenes work that's helping shape our return to work.

This session is only available to OAO members and is “Free”!

He has lead significant services transformations that have been complicated and disrupted by events such as the viral outbreaks of H1N1 and SARS. He has also been a key member of the City of Ottawa emergency response team that was responsible for managing the response to events such as the  “ice storm”, “power blackout” and public transit strike. He has first-hand experience in developing plans and leading teams through significant business disruptions that required extensive business recovery efforts.

Dr. Trista Felty

Dr. Trista Felty was born and raised in Pennsylvania where she attended Villanova University and was a member of the varsity swim team.  She attended Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry for her dental degree and her Orthodontic residency program.  During dental school, she swam the English Channel as part of a 3-person relay team to raise money for MS research.  She met her husband in dental school (he suctioned her hair with a blood suction tip in the oral surgery clinic when he was supposed to be assisting her) and got imported into Canada to his hometown in British Columbia after finishing school.

She is a part-time faculty member in the graduate orthodontic program at the University of British Columbia and is in a private practice partnership in Abbotsford, BC.  She dedicates a considerable portion of her time serving on various dental and orthodontic committees and boards, on both the local and national levels.  She is a passionate advocate for having more members hold various positions in organized dentistry in recognition of the changing landscape of the dental profession.

When she isn’t focusing on teeth, she enjoys being with her three daughters, her husband who is a general dentist (so there is a lot of teeth talk at dinner time), and their huge Bernese mountain dog.  She also loves travelling and seeing all the world has to offer and hopes to be back visiting her American family and friends when the borders open again!
